From scattered pages to one destination

Sri Lanka's everyday-information web is fragmented — a tax rate on one site, a postal code on another, job listings somewhere else, none of it fast or mobile-friendly. We wanted a single, genuinely useful English-language destination for locals and expats: something a person actually returns to, not a thin page that an AI answer can replace. That meant building utility — tools, lookups, listings — alongside the content.

A platform that does things, not just reads

Lanka Websites runs on a custom Laravel CMS we built to power the whole network, with a fast, mobile-first server-rendered front end. Everything important renders in PHP so it's fully crawlable and fast.

• Deep content library — 1,400+ articles across news, business, tourism, careers, tech and lifestyle, managed entirely through a self-service admin.
• 100+ interactive tools — financial calculators, unit/format converters, health, developer, text and date tools, all server-rendered.
• Sri Lanka–specific lookups — postal code search + interactive map, fuel station codes, and a full HS Code / customs-duty browser by section and chapter.
• Jobs board — full-time, part-time, contract and "seeking work" listings with search.
• Classifieds marketplace — for-sale, wanted, services and community categories.
• Travel directory + map — hundreds of attractions (incl. 400+ waterfalls) with category taxonomy and an interactive map.
• Sinhala lyrics, recipes and user accounts, on a clean SEO foundation (clean URLs, fast Core Web Vitals, full metadata, hreflang).

A reusable platform that became a network

Lanka Websites is now the reference build for everything Mobiz ships across the network — new features are proven here first, then rolled out to the country editions. It demonstrates the full stack we can stand up for any market: a content engine, a tools library, a jobs board, a marketplace and a mapped directory, all on one codebase the owner controls end to end.
